After winning the museography competition in 2011, Studio Adrien Gardère — with Graphic Designers CL Design and economist BMF — was in charge of redesigning the entire museography of the French-American Museum of Blérancourt and its new expansion designed by architect Ateliers Lion.
Now achieved and open to the public, the design proposal of the Studio articulates and enhances the story of the French-American friendship around three major themes: the sharing of ideals, the mutual help during ordeals, the common artistic tastes and affinities.
This triptych spreads out in the three wings of the villa:
- On the North side, in the historic wing from 1930, the history of ideals that have built the French-American relationship to the present day (Ideals / Idéaux).
- At the heart of the building, partially buried underground, the history of the ordeals and wars that have forever strengthened the ties of French-American friendship (Ordeals / Epreuves).
- At the South, in the modern part of Florence Gould Pavilion, the history of cultural and artistic exchanges and the history of mutual fascination between French and American artists.
