The Musée des Arts Décoratifs welcomes AD intérieurs 2014 for the exhibition “Décors à vivre”, organized each year by AD Magazine. From the Living Room to the Bathroom, 16 interior designers created an interior around a piece from the museum’s collection. AD Magazine has invited Adrien Gardère to stage the projects of the interior designers inside the museum space.

To create real exhibition spaces in the unique nave of the museum, Studio Adrien Gardère created spectacular boxes decorated with doors introducing the own universe of each interior designer. This ephemeral architecture dialogs harmoniously with the majestic hall, built in a neo-Greek style by the architect Gaston Redon in 1905. The simple and radical design of these boxes, whose width and height varies along the nave, highlights the strength of the place: they combine the spectacular with the intimate. Each of them is a small room, a sort of vestibule, antechamber or corridor introducing the decors of the interior designers situated in the side galleries. On the façade of each of these extensions, the Studio invited the designers to conceive a door, grid or opening introducing their “Décor à vivre”.
